Tax Assistant Manager

About the role

BDO Malta is seeking a Tax Assistant Manager to provide advisory services to a diverse client base, handling both Maltese and international tax matters. You will work closely with internal teams and external advisors to deliver comprehensive tax solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Provide tax advisory services across various industries, focusing on Maltese tax implications and international developments.
• Liaise with the Malta Tax and Customs Administration on interpretative queries.
• Prepare, review, and file tax computations, returns, refunds, and shareholder registration forms.
• Conduct tax research and stay updated on legislative changes.
• Lead tax due‑diligence assignments and contribute to business development initiatives.
• Train and mentor junior team members.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of relevant tax experience.
• Master’s in Accountancy or fully ACCA‑qualified (or in the final stage of qualification).
• Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team, with strong organisational skills.
• Fluent English with advanced written and verbal communication.
• Self‑motivated, deadline‑driven, and capable of delegating and reviewing team work.

Required skills

• In‑depth knowledge of Maltese tax legislation.
• Experience with tax computations, returns, and refunds.
• Tax research and due‑diligence expertise.
