Audit Manager

About the role

BDO Malta is seeking an Audit Manager to lead external audit engagements and mentor junior staff. You will be responsible for ensuring audit work meets the firm’s methodology and quality standards while maintaining strong client relationships.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate and oversee audit engagements from start to completion, ensuring compliance with professional standards.
• Supervise and review the work of junior team members, providing coaching and feedback.
• Maintain day‑to‑day client contact, monitor engagement progress and adjust plans as needed.
• Manage billing, collections and professional liability considerations.
• Utilise audit technology tools and firm‑standard software to enhance delivery.

Required profile

• Degree in Accounting, Finance or related discipline.
• Fully qualified member of a recognised professional accounting body (ACCA, ACA/CA, CPA, etc.).
• 4‑5 years’ experience in external audit with progressive responsibility.
• Proven experience managing audit engagements and supervising teams.
• Excellent analytical skills, attention to detail and strong client‑relationship abilities.
