Assistant Maintenance Manager

About the role

Meliteh Recruiting is looking for an Assistant Maintenance Manager to support a leading hospitality group in Malta. The role involves coordinating daily maintenance activities, overseeing preventive programmes and ensuring that all technical systems operate efficiently.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate daily maintenance tasks and allocate work based on operational priorities.
• Plan, schedule and manage preventive maintenance programmes.
• Supervise maintenance technicians, external contractors and outsourced works.
• Inspect facilities and building systems, including HVAC, heating, cooling and ventilation.
• Investigate technical issues and implement effective solutions.
• Monitor productivity, material usage and inventory levels.
• Assist with budgeting, procurement, purchase orders and invoice processing.
• Ensure all maintenance work complies with quality, health and safety standards.
• Support renovations, maintenance projects and process‑improvement initiatives.
• Help train and supervise maintenance staff.

Required profile

• Minimum 2 years’ experience in a similar maintenance or supervisory role, preferably within hospitality.
• Higher Technical Diploma (HTD) or equivalent qualification in a relevant technical field.
• Legal right to live and work in Malta.
• Strong leadership, organisational and problem‑solving abilities.
• Practical, hands‑on and proactive approach.
• Good understanding of health and safety and quality standards.
