Electrical Engineer - Building Services

About the role

QP designs, engineers and manages the built environment and is looking for an Electrical Engineer to join its team. The role covers the design, coordination and supervision of electrical and building services systems from concept through to construction, working with multi-disciplinary teams, contractors and clients.

Key responsibilities

• Design and supervise the installation of electrical building services for new and existing developments, including lighting, power distribution, ELV, lifts, BMS, escalators, lightning protection and fire alarm systems.
• Lead electrical and M&E design packages from concept, scheme and detailed design through to construction, coordinating with other building services disciplines.
• Support PMC-related activities such as peer reviews, quality assurance, technical assessments and site supervision.
• Monitor works on site, witness testing and commissioning, and ensure compliance with contract documentation, legislation, health and safety requirements and professional standards.
• Ensure as-built documentation is complete, accurate and coordinated before project handover.
• Assist with commercial aspects such as payment applications, variations and claims.
• Monitor building systems performance and maintenance, and integrate new technologies into existing systems.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years' experience delivering building services engineering design across concept, scheme and detailed stages on complex, multi-sector projects.
• Strong understanding of quality assurance, health and safety and environmental sustainability in engineering delivery.
• Experience in QA/QC, peer reviews and site supervision.
• Fluency in English; additional languages are an advantage.

Required skills

• Proficiency in AutoCAD and Microsoft Office.
• Experience with BIM and tools such as Revit, HAP and IES is an advantage.
