Technical Department Supervisor

About the role

SR Group is seeking an experienced technician or technical professional to step into a supervisory role and take responsibility for a growing technical operation. You will lead a hands‑on technical team, ensure high‑quality service for customers and act as the primary point of contact for complex technical problems.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, supervise and support a team of technicians and service personnel.
• Plan and allocate servicing, repairs, installations, maintenance and breakdown work.
• Provide technical support and guidance when diagnosing complex mechanical, hydraulic, electrical or control‑system faults.
• Coordinate breakdowns and technical interventions, ensuring efficient and professional completion.
• Work directly with manufacturers on technical queries, warranty claims and diagnostics.
• Visit customer sites to assist with critical technical issues and communicate practical solutions.
• Maintain accurate service records, reports and technical documentation.
• Help develop and train technicians and improve workshop and field‑service procedures.

Required profile

• Several years’ experience with heavy machinery, construction, waste/recycling or similar industrial equipment.
• Strong mechanical, electrical and hydraulic diagnostic and troubleshooting abilities.
• Previous experience leading, mentoring or supervising technicians (preferred).
• Practical, hands‑on approach and calm under pressure.
• Good organisational, problem‑solving and customer‑service skills.
• Valid driving licence; knowledge of Maltese and residence in Malta are advantages.
