Team Manager - Malta Youth Games

About the role

Commonwealth Games Australia (CGA) is recruiting a Team Manager for the Malta 2027 Australian Youth Commonwealth Games Team. This is an Expression of Interest position based in Malta, open to Program Sport nominees who will lead the administration, operations and logistics of their sport's program during the Games.

Key responsibilities

• Lead all administration, operations and logistics requirements of the Program Sport.
• Attend and contribute to Team meetings and pre-Games briefings as required.
• Work with CGA staff on planning, long listing and nomination of support personnel.
• Ensure all Team administration is accurate and submitted on time.
• Communicate Team updates to athletes, support staff and stakeholders.
• Manage the Program Sport team so it complies with CGA policies, by-laws and rules.
• Liaise with HQ media personnel on media enquiries.
• Support integrity in sport (anti-doping, safeguarding, irregular betting, match fixing).
• Provide a post-Games report on the Program Sport's performance.
• Carry out any other duties asked by the Chef de Mission, Team Executive or CGA CEO.

Required profile

• An appropriate qualification such as Sports Management, Coaching or a tertiary teaching qualification.
• Nominated by the Program Sport and endorsed by its CEO and/or High-Performance Director.
• Experience in a similar role at youth Commonwealth Games, World Championships, Olympics or Paralympics.
• Able to travel to Malta and obtain a visa if needed; Working with Children Check or equivalent.
• Proven ability to lead teams in high-intensity elite and international multi-sport Games environments.
• Strong administration skills, meeting deadlines and managing multiple priorities.
• Capacity to reassign other professional commitments during Games time and the pre-Games planning phase.
