Mechanical Technician

About the role

2coms is looking for a motivated and technically skilled Mechanical Technician to join its engineering and maintenance team in Malta. The successful candidate will service, maintain, repair, install and commission a wide range of mechanical equipment and systems across client sites and workshop environments.

Key responsibilities

• Servicing, maintenance, troubleshooting and repair of mechanical equipment at client premises, project sites and workshops
• Installing, testing and commissioning mechanical systems such as air compressors, high-pressure cleaners, forklift trucks, marine engines and other industrial equipment
• Dismantling, inspecting, repairing and overhauling pumps, compressors and associated machinery
• Diagnosing mechanical and electrical faults and performing programming adjustments, calibration and configuration
• Routine inspections, preventative maintenance and keeping accurate maintenance records and service reports
• Ensuring equipment runs safely and in line with manufacturer specifications, and assisting with equipment improvement ideas

Required profile

• Diploma or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering or a related technical field
• Minimum 2 years of experience as a Mechanical Technician; fresh graduates are encouraged to apply and will receive on-the-job training
• Knowledge of mechanical systems, pumps, compressors, engines and industrial equipment
• Good organizational and documentation skills, strong customer service and quality workmanship
• Ability to work independently and in a team, and willingness to learn

Required skills

• Strong mechanical aptitude and component-level diagnosis and repair
• Basic understanding of electrical fault diagnosis and troubleshooting
