Engineering & Maintenance Junior Manager

About the role

A recruitment consultant on behalf of a client in the manufacturing sector is looking for an experienced Engineering & Maintenance Junior Manager who combines hands-on technical expertise with managerial experience. The role leads a team of Maintenance Technicians and reports directly to the Operations Manager. It is an on-premises, full-time position in the Southern Region of Malta.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain simple to medium-complexity automation equipment and analyse equipment failures.
• Identify and implement improvements.
• Manage the Maintenance and Development team and oversee the overall management of the function.
• Manage spare parts and maintenance stock, and oversee maintenance and repair activities.
• Keep relevant documentation and records up to date.

Required profile

• Engineering degree with 3 years of hands-on experience.
• Good organisational and leadership skills to manage a team of technicians.
• Experience in manufacturing engineering or operations is an asset.
• Well-spoken English and good communication skills.

Required skills

• Ability to read and understand electrical circuit diagrams and mechanical drawings.
• Good negotiation skills.
• Proactive, can-do attitude with strong problem-solving skills.
