Accountant – International Transportation Investment Group

About the role

The client is a fast‑growing transportation investment group operating across shipping, intermodal, aviation and rail. They are looking for an Accountant to join a multi‑jurisdictional finance team supporting a ship‑owning structure in an international environment.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain books and records, own monthly/quarterly/annual close and reporting for sub‑groups and fleets under multiple GAAPs (Group GAAP, US GAAP, IFRS).
• Prepare journal entries, reconciliations, accruals, provisions and trial balances.
• Produce standalone and consolidated financial statements, including balance sheet, income statement and cash‑flow statements.
• Manage accounts payable, invoice processing, expense claims and credit‑card reconciliations.
• Support tax and VAT bookings, interact with external auditors and tax practitioners.
• Assist with ERP implementation, system testing and process mapping.

Required profile

• Strong accounting or finance education; ACA, ACCA, CPA or equivalent desired or in progress.
• Experience in audit, shipping or transportation finance is preferred.
• Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.
• Proactive, reliable and able to work under changing priorities.
