Senior Finance Manager

About the role

Our client, an international aviation group headquartered in Malta, is seeking a Senior Finance Manager to lead the finance function of one of its high‑growth entities. You will own the end‑to‑end financial processes, manage a team of ten qualified accountants and ensure accurate reporting for a fast‑paced, multi‑currency environment.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, develop and manage a finance team of around 10 senior accountants.
• Oversee all financial activities – revenue, receivables, payables, cash, general ledger, taxation and reporting – in line with Group policies and Maltese law.
• Process and reconcile high‑volume, multi‑currency international and inter‑company transactions.
• Own the monthly, quarterly and annual reporting cycles and deliver timely submissions to the Head Office.
• Drive credit control, creditor management and debt recovery while managing credit risk.
• Coordinate with internal and external auditors and ensure timely remediation of findings.
• Review and improve financial systems, recommending automation opportunities.
• Provide financial insight and analysis to support senior management decision‑making.

Required profile

• University degree in Accounting or ACCA qualification.
• Minimum 6 years of finance management experience in Malta, including people‑management.
• Proven experience in a multi‑currency, multi‑entity group environment.
• Solid knowledge of IFRS, Maltese statutory reporting, VAT and corporate tax.
• Experience within the aviation sector is an advantage.

Required skills

• Strong expertise in consolidation and performance management.
• Proficiency with ERP and reporting systems such as SAP, Oracle or Hyperion.
• Advanced Microsoft Office skills, especially Excel.
• Ability to handle high‑volume international and inter‑company transactions.
