Head of Payments

About the role

As Head of Payments you will own the strategy and execution of payment experiences across regulated markets, ensuring seamless, secure and efficient transactions for customers. You will lead a high‑performing team, manage key provider partnerships and drive commercial and operational excellence.

Key responsibilities

• Define and execute a forward‑looking payments strategy that enhances customer experience and supports business growth.
• Build and optimise a diverse PSP portfolio delivering performance, scalability and competitive advantage.
• Lead commercial negotiations with payment providers and secure long‑term partnerships.
• Own the payments budget, monitor performance and identify efficiency opportunities.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to improve success rates and reduce friction in the cashier journey.

Required profile

• Extensive experience leading payments operations in regulated environments, preferably within gaming or fintech.
• Proven track record at head‑level managing high‑performing teams.
• Strong commercial acumen with experience in stakeholder management and supplier negotiations.
• Analytical mindset capable of turning complex data into strategic decisions.

Required skills

• Deep knowledge of payment processes, PSPs and e‑payments ecosystems.
• Understanding of financial risk mitigation and payment regulations in Germany and Austria.
• Project management expertise to lead initiatives from strategy through implementation.
• Excellent written and verbal communication, including presentation and influencing skills.
