System & Network Engineer

About the role

European Dynamics is looking for a fluent English-speaking System & Network Engineer to work on site in Malta. For the first assignment, the successful candidate joins the Development team of a major European institution and works closely with a major client's IT team, both on site and off site.

Key responsibilities

• Design, implement, operate and troubleshoot enterprise network and network security infrastructure across LAN/WAN environments.
• Implement and support routing, switching, firewalling, VPN and network segmentation solutions.
• Configure and support Application Delivery Controllers, load balancing and Web Application Firewalls.
• Take part in infrastructure projects, network upgrades, migrations and deployment of new technologies.
• Maintain network documentation and support operational, security and change management processes.

Required profile

• Bachelor degree in IT combined with 6 years of relevant experience in mission-critical, high-availability and security-sensitive environments.
• Excellent command of English and good command of Maltese.

Required skills

• Hands-on experience deploying and hardening on-premises infrastructure (HCI, VMware, RHEL/Windows Server, Docker/Kubernetes).
• Enterprise networking (VLAN segmentation, firewalls, load balancers) and hybrid cloud platforms (Microsoft Azure, Azure Key Vault, VNets).
• Operational security tools (Veeam backup/DR, SIEM logging).
• Support for PKI and network-attached HSM integrations.
