Senior IT Internal Auditor

About the role

The Senior IT Internal Auditor based in Malta will lead risk‑based IT regulatory, operational and resilience audits across Shift4 Group entities. Reporting to the Director of Internal Audit, the role combines hands‑on audit execution with advisory support to senior management and IT leadership.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and execute full‑cycle IT regulatory and operational audits, including risk assessment, fieldwork, reporting and follow‑up.
• Assess design and effectiveness of controls across IT governance, access, change management, SDLC, security, operations, third‑party risk, data integrity and business continuity.
• Identify and communicate technology risks, control gaps and regulatory issues, providing actionable recommendations.
• Document audit work in line with IIA standards and maintain the IT audit universe for risk‑based planning.
• Provide independent advisory support on control design, automation, regulatory readiness and emerging technology risks.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science or related field.
• 4–5 years of IT audit experience in a regulated environment, preferably financial services or fintech.
• Professional certification: CISA.
• Exposure to SOX environments and experience with Big 4 or top‑tier consulting firms.

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of IT control frameworks such as COSO and COBIT.
• Proficiency with audit domains including governance, access controls, change management, SDLC, cybersecurity and business continuity.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
