Freight Operations Clerk – Logistics Team

About the role

The Freight Operations Clerk will support Palm Shipping Agency’s logistics team in coordinating the daily movement of import and export shipments. The role ensures that goods are transported efficiently, documentation is accurate, and clients receive timely updates on their cargo.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate and monitor inbound and outbound freight shipments.
• Prepare and verify all required shipping documentation.
• Liaise with shipping lines, freight forwarders, customs brokers and transport providers.
• Track and trace shipments to guarantee on‑time delivery.
• Enter and maintain accurate shipment data in internal systems.
• Communicate shipment status proactively to clients.
• Assist in preparing freight quotes, negotiating rates and scheduling shipments.
• Ensure compliance with international trade regulations and company procedures.

Required profile

• Previous experience in freight forwarding, logistics or transport operations (preferred).
• Residency in Malta with a valid work permit.
• Fluent in English and Maltese.
• Strong administrative, organizational and communication abilities.
• Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines and operate both independently and within a team.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
