Compliance Officer – Credit Card Marketing & Consumer Protection

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Compliance Officer to ensure that all credit‑card marketing and consumer‑protection communications targeting German customers meet Maltese, EU and German regulatory standards. The role sits within the Compliance Department of novumbank and works closely with marketing, product and front‑office teams.

Key responsibilities

• Review, approve and monitor all credit‑card advertising and marketing materials (digital, print, social, email, landing pages) before launch.
• Ensure communications are fair, clear, not misleading and comply with MFSA conduct‑of‑business rules, German consumer‑protection law and EU regulations.
• Maintain internal marketing compliance guidelines, checklists and approval procedures.
• Provide regulatory guidance to business units and flag impacts of new or amended regulations.
• Support compliance risk assessments, policy drafting, training delivery and regulatory reporting.
• Participate in product approval workflows and monitor post‑approval material changes.

Required profile

• University degree in Law, Finance, Business, Economics, Marketing or a related field.
• At least 4 years of experience in a compliance, legal or regulatory role within banking or a regulated financial services environment.
• Experience with MFSA‑regulated institutions and credit‑card or consumer‑credit products is preferred.
