Business Development Director – Trust & Corporate Services

About the role

The Business Development Director will lead the commercial strategy for a Malta‑based professional services firm specialising in trust and corporate solutions. Reporting to the Managing Director, you will shape growth plans, expand client relationships and act as the public face of the business.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute a three‑year commercial growth plan aligned with revenue targets.
• Acquire new clients across Malta, the UK, the EU and Switzerland while deepening existing relationships.
• Build and manage a network of introducers, advisers and referral partners.
• Collaborate with department heads to design and launch new services such as immigration, taxation, governance and asset management.
• Define marketing and public‑relations priorities to reinforce the firm’s market positioning.
• Represent the company at conferences, professional gatherings and networking events.
• Provide commercial insight for acquisitions, cross‑border expansion and major projects.
• Recruit, mentor and lead the business development and relationship‑management team.
• Monitor pipeline, conversion rates and revenue, reporting regularly to the Managing Director and Board.

Required profile

• University degree; professional certification in a relevant field is a plus.
• Minimum 8 years of senior‑level experience in business development, client relationship management or a comparable commercial role within trust services, corporate administration, financial services or related sectors.
