Director of Operational Excellence & FP&A

About the role

The Director of Operational Excellence & FP&A will combine strategic financial planning with hands‑on operational improvement. Reporting to executive leadership, you will shape a new Operational Excellence function while overseeing an established FP&A team across multiple locations.

Key responsibilities

• Design, build and lead the Operational Excellence function, defining its structure, capabilities and ways of working.
• Analyse processes, workflows and performance metrics to uncover efficiency and profitability opportunities.
• Drive improvement initiatives from concept through execution, monitoring results to ensure measurable impact.
• Lead Lean and Continuous Improvement projects aimed at waste reduction, productivity gains and service‑quality enhancements.
• Define and track operational KPIs, standardise processes and embed best practices across business units.
• Manage change‑management activities with department heads and cross‑functional stakeholders.
• Support strategic projects such as cost optimisation, automation, productivity and profitability initiatives, reporting realised financial impact.
• Oversee budgeting, forecasting and long‑range financial planning; analyse revenue, costs, margins and cash flow.
• Develop financial models for strategic initiatives and monitor performance against budgets, recommending corrective actions.
• Prepare management reports and dashboards with actionable insights, partnering with leaders to improve financial visibility.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Operations Management, Finance, Accounting, Business or a related field.
• 10+ years of experience in Operational Excellence, Business Performance, Management Consulting or FP&A.
• 10+ years of people‑management experience with a proven record of building or restructuring teams.
