Waste Management Staff

About the role

Explora Journeys, a newly created luxury travel brand, is looking for a Waste Management Staff member to support the ship’s waste management facility while ensuring compliance with company policies and maritime regulations.

Key responsibilities

• When authorized by the Environment Officer or Waste Management Lead, discharge permitted food waste at sea.
• Recover and store incinerator ash safely from the ship’s incinerator.
• Crush glass bottles and other permitted glass waste.
• Sort, compact, and store aluminum in designated permitted areas, avoiding bin or trolley‑wash zones.
• Perform waste separation according to the garbage officer’s instructions.
• Carry out all tasks with strict adherence to ship safety standards.

Required profile

• Proficiency in English (minimum B1 level); additional European languages are a plus.
• Full compliance with the Flag State’s safety, health, and physical requirements.
• Ability to maintain documentation in line with STCW 95 standards.
