SOC Specialist - Microsoft Sentinel & Threat Hunting

About the role

A VC fintech operating at the intersection of institutional finance and digital assets is looking for a SOC Specialist to build its SOC from the ground up. Reporting directly to the CISO, you will strengthen security detection and incident response across Microsoft Sentinel, Defender XDR, threat hunting, detection engineering and incident response. The role suits someone who wants to own security operations and solve real problems.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with engineering teams on security improvements and communicate findings clearly
• Apply MITRE ATT&CK to improve detection coverage and response playbooks
• Build SOC automation using SOAR and Microsoft Logic Apps
• Conduct proactive threat hunting and threat intelligence analysis
• Manage security logs across endpoints, identities, cloud and network infrastructure
• Lead incident response, from investigation and containment to recovery
• Develop and optimise KQL-based detection rules in Microsoft Sentinel

Required profile

• At least three years of hands-on SOC experience
• Strong technical depth and confidence taking investigations from initial alert to resolution
• Familiarity with ISO 27001 or NIST
• Strong English communication and escalation management skills

Required skills

• Hands-on experience with Microsoft Sentinel and SIEM operations
• Proficiency in Microsoft Defender XDR and security event investigation
• Advanced KQL for detection rules, analytics and query optimisation
• Log source integration, telemetry pipelines and troubleshooting
• MITRE ATT&CK, threat hunting and adversary techniques
