Cyber Security Consultant

About the role

PwC is looking for a Cyber Security Consultant to join its Cyber Security & Privacy team within PwC Digital Services in Malta. The role supports a broad range of cyber services for local and international clients and offers exposure to governance, risk and compliance, offensive security, security engineering and cyber operations.

Key responsibilities

• Support GRC engagements: develop and review security policies and procedures, carry out cyber risk and maturity assessments, and help clients meet regulatory and standards-based requirements such as ISO 27001, DORA and NIS2, including as part of managed services.
• Deliver offensive security engagements with a team, including vulnerability assessments, penetration testing, social engineering exercises and red team assessments.
• Assist with security engineering and operations, such as implementing and configuring security solutions and strengthening operational controls.
• Prepare clear reports presenting findings, risks and recommendations for technical and business audiences.
• Maintain the team's lab environment, including IT infrastructure and bespoke orchestration and automation setups using programming and scripting languages.
• Research and implement new technologies, methods and tools, and keep accurate documentation.

Required profile

• Degree in IT, Computer Science, Information Security or a related field.
• Around 1-2 years of experience in IT operations, cyber security or a related technical field; a strong interest in cyber security consulting is also valued.
• Interest in GRC, offensive security, security engineering and cyber operations, with a willingness to learn new technologies and regulations.
• Willingness to undergo formal training and pursue industry or vendor certifications such as CompTIA Security+ or ISC2 Certified in Cybersecurity.
• Clear communication with technical and non-technical audiences, good time management and a commitment to ethics, confidentiality and professionalism.
