About the role
PwC is looking for a Senior Systems Engineer to join its Technology team in Qormi. You will provide second-line support to clients through a ticketing system and by phone, onsite and remotely, troubleshooting hardware and software issues and helping clients deliver their IT projects. The role sits within the managed services line of service.
Key responsibilities
- Lead operational support of IT infrastructure and cloud technologies, including Windows and Linux servers, virtualisation platforms, storage and networks
- Work with the Applications team to design the supporting environment for client solutions
- Analyse systems technically and deliver effective solutions
- Design, integrate and manage complex platform solutions
- Determine infrastructure requirements by evaluating business strategy and needs
- Improve existing systems, platforms, applications and services, and monitor and escalate issues and risks
- Prepare documentation after project implementation and receive ongoing vendor product training
Required profile
- Degree in ICT, Engineering or a related field, or at least 4 years of experience in an enterprise IT environment
- Experience designing and implementing enterprise IT infrastructure
- Knowledge of virtualisation, cloud, storage and networking, with the ability to build enterprise architecture roadmaps
- Familiarity with multiple operating systems, including Windows and Linux, and with hybrid integration platforms
- Effective communication in English and a valid driving licence (required)
