Senior Lawyer – Technology, Media, Telecoms & IP

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Lawyer to join a specialist Technology, Media, Telecommunications (TMT) and Intellectual Property practice. The role involves handling complex advisory and dispute matters for international clients across digital services, gaming, telecoms, automotive, pharma and media sectors.

Key responsibilities

• Take full ownership of high‑level advisory and dispute assignments from inception to completion, ensuring commercial awareness and autonomy.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for international clients, delivering strategic legal guidance on technology, media, telecoms and IP issues.
• Develop and expand specialist practice areas such as data governance, IP strategy, digital regulation, artificial intelligence and technology‑driven agreements.
• Mentor junior lawyers, support their technical development and improve internal knowledge‑sharing processes.
• Enhance the firm’s external visibility through publications, speaking engagements and thought‑leadership initiatives.

Required profile

• Qualified lawyer with a recognised law degree and a full practising certificate.
• Minimum five years post‑qualification experience in TMT, IP or a closely related discipline.
• Fluent in both Maltese and English.
• Strong drafting, negotiation and client‑facing communication abilities.
• Collaborative, professional approach with proven relationship‑building skills.

Required skills

• Expertise in TMT and IP legal frameworks, including regulatory compliance and contractual drafting.
• Knowledge of digital law developments, data governance and AI‑related agreements.
