Senior Fullstack Engineer - Node.js/TypeScript

About the role

Join Twin Harbour Interactive’s Malta studio as a Senior Fullstack/Backend Engineer focused on Node.js and TypeScript. You will help transform a monolithic PHP application into a set of loosely‑coupled micro‑services running on Google Cloud, supporting internal game teams and external partners.

Key responsibilities

• Extract and refactor micro‑services from the existing PHP monolith using Node.js/TypeScript.
• Maintain and extend central shared services used by game design, monetisation and other stakeholders.
• Design, develop, test, deploy and continuously improve high‑quality, maintainable code.
• Define SLOs, add metrics, tracing and logging, and participate in on‑call incident reviews.
• Leverage AI tools to boost development efficiency and code quality.
• Collaborate with game designers and product leads to implement new features.

Required profile

• Proven experience in Node.js/TypeScript development with strong debugging skills.
• Familiarity with popular frameworks such as Next.js, Nest.js, Express.js and testing tools like Jest.
• Experience building distributed systems, handling queues, pub‑sub, idempotency and eventual consistency.
• Ability to work cross‑functionally and communicate effectively.
• Willingness to work with additional languages such as PHP or Java.
• Passion for games, especially strategy titles.
