Payroll Officer – Tax & Legal Services

About the role

PwC is seeking a motivated Payroll Officer to join its Tax & Legal Services team in Qormi. This entry‑level position offers hands‑on experience supporting a diverse client portfolio while developing core payroll and client‑service skills.

Key responsibilities

• Process payroll for multiple client organisations, ensuring accuracy and compliance with legal and regulatory standards.
• Maintain confidential employee data across various systems, keeping records up‑to‑date.
• Prepare statutory returns, reports and remuneration statements, and liaise with local authorities as required.
• Respond to client payroll queries with professionalism and clear communication.
• Provide guidance on employment‑related administrative matters and escalate complex issues.
• Collaborate with PwC colleagues to deliver seamless end‑to‑end client service.
• Contribute to continuous‑improvement initiatives to enhance processes and client experience.

Required profile

• Detail‑oriented, organized and comfortable working in a structured environment.
• Communicates clearly in Maltese and English, both written and verbal.
• Demonstrates integrity and discretion when handling confidential information.

• Holds or is working towards an MQF Level 3 qualification; a Business Diploma from MCAST is an asset.
