Manufacturing Quality Engineer

About the role

STMicroelectronics Malta is seeking a Manufacturing Quality Engineer to join its Quality Team. The role is responsible for eliminating production issues, safeguarding product quality, and driving continuous improvement within a semiconductor manufacturing environment.

Key responsibilities

• Resolve and eliminate production issues that affect plant productivity, customer deliveries, and product quality.
• Lead cross‑functional teams to prepare and deliver Internal Incident Reports promptly.
• Develop and coordinate Root Cause Analyses, implement Permanent Corrective Actions, and present results in 8D reports to management.
• Manage non‑conforming material according to quality standards and monitor related metrics.
• Ensure proper document control flow in the Document Management System.
• Drive quality initiatives using Six Sigma methodology and the DMAIC process.
• Certify QC operators and review QC rejects at raw line and finishing stages.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in an industrial quality role.
• Business‑level proficiency in English.

• 8D reporting methodology.
• Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA).
• Statistical Process Control (SPC).
• IATF 16949 standards.
• Six Sigma and DMAIC processes.
• Root Cause Analysis.
• Advanced Excel and Microsoft Office suite.
