Maintenance Technician

About the role

GCS Malta is seeking a Maintenance Technician to join a leading solar energy company in Malta. The role involves both preventive and reactive maintenance of mechanical and electrical systems across the plant.

Key responsibilities

• Perform preventive and reactive maintenance on M&E systems, including electrical panels, HVAC, pumps, motors, lighting and controls.
• Diagnose and repair electrical faults safely, adhering to REWS and OHSA regulations.
• Conduct testing, inspection and certification of electrical installations.
• Maintain, repair and adjust mechanical equipment as required.
• Keep accurate records of maintenance activities, inspections and repairs.
• Coordinate with external contractors, suppliers and management for planned works.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety and environmental policies.
• Participate in on‑call duties and emergency breakdown responses.

Required profile

• Possession of a REWS Electrical License (Authorisation A or B) and a recognised qualification in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering.
• Minimum of three years’ experience in a maintenance or building‑services environment.
• Strong knowledge of electrical regulations, wiring standards and safe working practices.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and mechanical drawings.
• Experience with BMS systems, HVAC and industrial plant is an asset.
• Excellent manual problem‑solving skills.
