Junior Tax Assistant

About the role

PwC is looking for a Junior Tax Assistant in its Tax team in Qormi. The team supports tax experts in delivering tax services to local and international clients by helping with coordination, documentation and operational processes. You will work closely with experienced professionals on a diverse portfolio of clients, with continuous coaching, training and support.

Key responsibilities

• Review client documentation and tax-related checklists
• Update compliance tracking tools during the tax filing process
• Organise client information and manage records securely in document management systems
• Support preparation of tax computations and returns
• Maintain correspondence with the internal Risk Management team and clients to request information
• Assist with regulatory tasks such as stamp duty checks, refund claims and Country-by-Country Reporting (CBCR)
• Support additional administrative and compliance duties as required
• Collaborate with professionals across the PwC network to gain exposure to clients locally and in several jurisdictions

Required profile

• Minimum pass in Accounting SEC (O Level); an equivalent recognised qualification in Accounting or Taxation at MQF Level 4 is an asset
• Proactive, with a genuine interest in tax compliance and Maltese tax laws
• Fluent written and spoken English with strong communication skills
• Highly organised, able to work independently and in a team, and able to meet deadlines under pressure

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools, particularly Excel
• Tax compliance and regulatory submissions
