About the role
EY is looking for an Indirect Tax (VAT) Assistant to join its fast-growing VAT team in Malta. You will work on EY's largest multi-country client engagements, acting as the assistant VAT controller for VAT/GST compliance outsourced to EY.
Key responsibilities
- Liaise with international clients and colleagues on VAT compliance matters
- Monitor the quality of indirect tax data and reports of your clients
- Prepare and review indirect tax returns
- Follow up on legislative and business changes so that systems and processes are kept up to date
- Take part in training and coaching sessions in your development plan to keep technical knowledge current
Required profile
- Basic understanding of tax compliance
- Basic understanding of IT systems and VAT
- Fluency in English, written and spoken
- Excellent communication skills
- An innovative, problem-solving approach and a desire to learn and develop into the role
- Ability to plan and prioritise work
