Audit Assistant

About the role

EY is looking for an Audit Assistant in Msida who helps clients meet their reporting requirements by accurately reporting on financial statements and providing meaningful insights into accounting and reporting matters. The role involves working in teams with clients, collecting data and supporting audit engagements, with learning and development tailored to your interests.

Key responsibilities

• Work in a team to get to know clients, their businesses and how they work
• Collect the data and information needed to carry out the audit
• Support the planning, lead fieldwork, manage performance and keep engagement leaders updated on audit engagements
• Complete audit processes and document higher-risk areas, building skills in revenue, costs, financial instruments and tax
• Analyse financial statement data to ensure it is true and fair
• Build productive working relationships with client personnel
• Keep up with market trends and share knowledge to develop junior colleagues

Required profile

• Masters in Accounts, ACA/CA/ACCA or an equivalent international qualification
• Minimum of 3 years of relevant work experience
• Proven experience delivering external audit and assurance engagements
• Track record of leading, planning, executing and reporting on audits
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills and a collaborative approach to management

Required skills

• Thorough knowledge of current auditing techniques and experience across the whole audit process
• Application of IFRS and local GAAP
• Risk-based auditing, risk and control strategies, and Q&RM procedures
• Understanding of regulatory requirements
