Head of Business Development

About the role

Calamatta Cuschieri Moneybase, a leading Maltese financial services firm, is looking for an experienced, commercially‑driven Head of Business Development. You will build and lead the Moneybase Business sales team, driving corporate client acquisition and revenue growth across payments, card issuing, treasury, investments and FX.

Key responsibilities

• Define and execute a corporate sales strategy aligned with company growth targets.
• Establish and scale a high‑performing B2B sales team in Malta, targeting local SMEs.
• Set clear KPIs, sales processes and performance metrics.
• Identify new revenue opportunities across payments, cards, FX and treasury products.
• Collaborate with product and marketing teams to align offerings with market needs.
• Ensure strong onboarding and customer experience in partnership with internal teams.
• Monitor industry trends and competitor positioning to capture new opportunities.
• Build and maintain relationships with key corporate clients and stakeholders.
• Own revenue targets, forecasting, pipeline management and profitability metrics.
• Report monthly sales performance and work with the CCO on strategy.

Required profile

• 5‑8+ years of B2B sales experience, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
• Proven track record of exceeding revenue targets.
• Strong knowledge of fintech, banking or financial services, including corporate banking, payments, card issuing, treasury and FX.
• Experience managing corporate client relationships.
