Head of Business Development

About the role

We are looking for an experienced and commercially driven leader to build and head our Moneybase Business Sales team in Malta. The role will define and execute the corporate sales strategy, acquire and grow corporate clients across our suite of services including global payments, card issuing, treasury management, investments and foreign exchange.

Key responsibilities

• Define and execute the corporate sales strategy aligned with company growth objectives.
• Establish a highly organized sales team in Malta targeting local SMEs.
• Build, mentor, and scale a B2B sales team while fostering a culture of accountability and achievement.
• Set clear KPIs, sales processes, and performance metrics.
• Identify and target new revenue opportunities across payments, cards, FX, and treasury products.
• Collaborate with product teams to align offerings with market needs and provide feedback on product development.
• Work with marketing on initiatives, events, and web presence.
• Ensure strong onboarding and customer experience in collaboration with internal teams.
• Stay ahead of industry trends and competitor positioning to act on new opportunities.
• Build and maintain relationships with key corporate clients and stakeholders.
• Own revenue targets, forecasting, pipeline management and overall profitability metrics.
• Report monthly sales performance and work closely with the CCO to shape strategy and priorities.

Required profile

• 5‑8+ years of B2B sales experience, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
• Proven experience managing corporate client relationships.
• Track record of consistently exceeding revenue targets.
• Strong knowledge of fintech, banking or financial services.
