Fireman (Cruise Ship)

About the role

Explora Journeys is seeking a qualified Fireman to join its newly created luxury cruise brand. The Fireman will maintain continuous fire surveillance aboard the vessel and work closely with the Chief Fireman to keep all firefighting equipment clean and operational.

Key responsibilities

• Remain on board whenever the Chief Fireman is absent, ensuring minimum safe manning, especially while the ship is in port.
• Follow the Safety Officer’s daily instructions for the maintenance and inspection of fire‑fighting equipment and structural fire‑suppression devices.
• Perform all duties in line with accepted standards, minimizing material waste.
• Prepare and maintain means of access on board (ladders, gangways) while adhering to injury‑prevention rules.

Required profile

• Fluent reading, speaking and writing in English; additional European languages are a plus.
• Proven experience in a similar fireman role on another cruise company.
• Full compliance with the Flag State’s safety, health and physical requirements.
• Documentation in accordance with STCW 95.

Required skills

• Fire surveillance and detection on maritime vessels.
• Maintenance and cleanliness of firefighting equipment.
• STCW 95 certification.
