Health & Safety Manager (Multi-Site Retail)

About the role

Hudson Group, an international retailer and distributor active in sport and fashion wear, is looking for a Health & Safety Manager based in Burmarrad, Malta. The role leads the development, implementation and continuous improvement of health and safety systems across all retail locations in Malta, including stores, warehouses and administrative facilities, and reports to the General Manager and Chief People Officer.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with the Health and Safety at Work Act (Chapter 646) and the Workplace (Minimum Health and Safety Requirements) Regulations, and liaise with the Occupational Health and Safety Authority (OHSA) during inspections and audits
• Maintain risk assessments, corrective measures and an up-to-date Health & Safety policy
• Audit all retail outlets, warehouses and administrative facilities in Malta and, when required, other Hudson territories, and track closure of corrective actions
• Investigate accidents and near-misses, support hazard identification and preventive action planning, and develop and deliver H&S training programmes
• Maintain safety documentation, set KPIs and report compliance performance, risks and incidents to senior leadership; act as Health & Safety Reporting Officer where required
• Lead safety culture initiatives, emergency preparedness drills and benchmarking against EU directives and retail best practice

Required profile

• Level 5 qualification or higher in Occupational Health & Safety, with recognised training in Maltese OHS legislation
• Registered or meets OHSA's definition of a "Competent Person"
• Experience developing and delivering H&S training, reporting, governance frameworks and safety documentation
• Experience liaising with regulatory authorities and influencing managers and operational teams on safety culture
• Willingness to travel regularly across Hudson territories
• Fluent in English, written and spoken
