Compliance Officer (MiFID)

About the role

The Compliance Officer oversees and implements the company's compliance monitoring plan, deploying it throughout the calendar year and spending about 90% of their time on monitoring activities. The role ensures adherence to all relevant regulations and standards, including MiFID requirements, and is subject to PQ approval by the MFSA; candidates who have already passed this process or who are willing to go through it with support are welcome.

Key responsibilities

• Implement and manage the company's compliance monitoring plan and deploy it throughout the year
• Ensure compliance with MiFID requirements and regulations
• Monitor compliance-related activities, which make up 90% of the job
• Work with stakeholders across the organisation to align with compliance standards
• Keep up to date with regulatory changes and share updates with relevant parties
• Prepare and present compliance reports to management regularly
• Collaborate with internal teams on compliance issues and conduct regular audits and assessments to identify and address risks
• Provide training and guidance to employees on compliance matters

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Law or a related field
• Previous experience in a compliance or regulatory role, preferably in financial services
• Strong understanding of MiFID requirements and regulations
• Certification in compliance or related fields is a plus
