Cloud & Infrastructure Engineer

About the role

The Cloud & Infrastructure Engineer delivers, operates and continuously improves customer on-premise and cloud environments within BMIT's managed services portfolio. The role is hands-on across Microsoft 365, Azure, virtualisation platforms and core infrastructure, covering daily operations and customer projects. It is based in Handaq.

Key responsibilities

• Onboard, administer and operate customer cloud and on-premise environments according to agreed service scopes, handling day-to-day issues, requests and project tasks.
• Support infrastructure-related networking tasks with Network Infrastructure Engineers.
• Install, configure and manage Azure services (compute, backup, storage, monitoring, snapshots, recovery) and Microsoft 365 services (Entra ID, Defender, Intune, Exchange Online, SharePoint).
• Administer Windows and Linux servers, manage VMware and Hyper-V, and support SAN and storage platforms.
• Help design and implement new customer solutions and work with Solution Architects and senior engineers on project tasks.
• Use PowerShell and other automation tools to improve efficiency and contribute to deployment standardisation.
• Plan preventive maintenance, patching and service enhancements, and take ownership of issues from start to resolution.
• Collaborate with commercial and service teams, document environments, configurations, changes and problem resolutions, and take part in on-call rotations and onsite customer visits.

Required profile

• Hands-on experience operating and supporting Windows and/or Linux servers and virtualisation platforms.
• Experience administering Microsoft 365 and Entra ID in a support/operations capacity.
• Experience supporting Azure services and responding to operational incidents.
• Strong troubleshooting skills and ability to resolve issues within SLAs.
• Strong documentation and change control discipline.
