Business Analytics Consultant

About the role

EY is seeking a Consultant with hands-on business analytics experience to join its Business Consulting team in Malta. You will sit within the Business Analytics competency, helping clients across financial services, gaming, hospitality, the public sector and other industries turn data into better decisions through KPI frameworks, dashboards, customer insights and value tracking. You will also contribute to transformation delivery and business architecture work.

Key responsibilities

• Design KPI and performance measurement frameworks aligned to client strategy, with clear definitions, targets and ownership.
• Analyse data to identify trends, drivers and root causes, and build dashboards and reporting solutions.
• Support scenario analysis, forecasting, benefits tracking and performance improvement, and turn analysis into recommendations for executive and non-technical audiences.
• Analyse customer, product and portfolio performance to inform prioritisation, roadmaps and investment decisions.
• Apply data management and governance standards to all outputs.
• Contribute to end-to-end analytics workstreams, including scope, plan, deliverables, quality and timelines.
• Facilitate workshops to align stakeholders on metrics, definitions and business priorities, and identify and escalate risks.
• Contribute to transformation and operating model engagements, proposals and thought leadership, and share knowledge across the team.
• Shape analytics solutions such as anomaly detection, risk and control monitoring, self-service analytics and automated reporting, and link them to the client's wider strategy and transformation agenda.

Required profile

• At least 2 years of hands-on experience in business analytics, business intelligence or data-driven advisory work, ideally client-facing.
• Bachelor's degree (MQF Level 6) in Data Analytics, Statistics, Business, Economics, Engineering, Business and Computing or a related field.
• Excellent data storytelling and presentation skills, and structured problem solving with experience gathering requirements through interviews and workshops.
• Results-oriented and adaptable in a fast-paced environment.
• Asset: exposure to AI and advanced analytics, customer/product/portfolio analytics, Agile/Scrum/SAFe or transformation delivery experience, and experience in financial services, gaming, hospitality or the public sector.

Required skills

• Power BI (data modelling, DAX, report design), SQL and advanced Excel.
• Familiarity with Python or an equivalent analytics language.
• Solid understanding of KPI design, performance measurement and management reporting.
• Asset: a Master's degree or relevant certification (e.g. Microsoft PL-300, AI-900, PMP, Lean Six Sigma).
