Audit Senior

About the role

EY is looking for an Audit Senior in Msida who helps clients meet their reporting requirements by accurately reporting on financial statements and providing meaningful insights into accounting and reporting matters. The role offers leading-class learning and development tailored to your interests, with the chance to progress and become a credible advisor influencing clients and engagement teams.

Key responsibilities

• Work in a team to get to know clients, their businesses and how they work
• Collect the data and information needed to carry out the audit
• Support planning, lead fieldwork, manage performance and keep engagement leaders updated
• Complete audit processes and document higher-risk areas, building skills in revenue, costs, financial instruments and tax
• Analyse financial statement data to ensure it is true and fair
• Build productive working relationships with client personnel
• Share knowledge to develop junior colleagues and refer clients to colleagues in other teams where appropriate

Required profile

• Masters in Accounts, ACA/CA/ACCA or an equivalent international qualification
• Minimum of 3 years of relevant work experience
• Proven experience delivering external audit and assurance engagements
• Track record of leading, planning, executing and reporting on audits
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills and a collaborative approach to management

Required skills

• Thorough knowledge of current auditing techniques and experience across the entire audit process
• Application of IFRS and local GAAP
• Risk-based auditing, risk and control strategies, and Q&RM procedures
• Understanding of regulatory requirements
