Assistant Maintenance Manager

About the role

We are looking for an Assistant Maintenance Manager to support the smooth operation of all maintenance works across db Group’s hotels and resorts in Malta. The role involves planning, coordinating, and supervising both in‑house and outsourced maintenance activities to ensure minimal downtime and high quality standards.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate and monitor in‑house and outsourced maintenance works, adjusting tasks and schedules based on priorities.
• Develop and manage preventive maintenance programmes to minimise equipment downtime.
• Monitor daily maintenance software entries versus jobs completed to track staff productivity.
• Investigate maintenance issues, propose solutions and support technicians on specific jobs.
• Inspect facilities and building systems such as HVAC, heating, cooling and ventilation.
• Supervise contractors and tradespeople during installations, repairs or maintenance.
• Assist in budgeting, inventory management, purchase orders and invoice processing.
• Recruit, train and supervise maintenance technicians while ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.

Required profile

• Minimum 2 years experience in a similar maintenance role, preferably within the hospitality industry.
• Higher Technical Diploma (HTD) or equivalent in a relevant technical field.
• Electrical Licence A or B is an asset.
• Familiarity with modern HVAC and ELV systems.
• Highly motivated, pragmatic and hands‑on approach to work.
