Accounting Assistant

About the role

PwC is looking for an Accounting Assistant to join its Finance and Corporate Services team in Qormi. You will support a wide range of clients with key accounting and compliance tasks, working alongside experienced professionals in a collaborative setting. The role offers exposure to diverse accounting activities and structured learning opportunities.

Key responsibilities

• Process purchase and sales invoices accurately in the accounting systems
• Assist with bank transactions, accruals and prepayments, and maintain fixed asset registers
• Carry out regular bank reconciliations
• Keep accounting files organised and up to date, including invoices, receipts and supporting documents
• Contribute to month-end and year-end closing and help prepare management accounts
• Support the team during audits with documentation and assistance
• Work with colleagues on general accounting and administrative tasks

Required profile

• Basic accounting qualification such as A-Level Accounting, a bookkeeping qualification or an equivalent
• Up to two years of experience in an accounting or finance support role
• Understanding of double-entry bookkeeping, accounts payable and receivable and bank reconciliations
• Clear written and spoken English
• Organised, detail-oriented, able to manage priorities and deadlines, and eager to learn

Required skills

• Microsoft Office, especially Excel
• Day-to-day accounting and financial services industry knowledge
