Accountant - Building Services

About the role

The client, a multi‑disciplinary group active in engineering, energy, property and infrastructure, is expanding its finance function. They are seeking an experienced Accountant to manage the full spectrum of financial activities for their building services division.

Key responsibilities

• Manage all accounting operations, including billing, cost accounting, inventory accounting and revenue recognition.
• Coordinate and direct the preparation of budgets, financial forecasts and variance analysis reports.
• Oversee payroll processing and ensure timely payment.
• Prepare and publish monthly management accounts.
• Coordinate regulatory reporting and research technical accounting issues for compliance.
• Support month‑end and year‑end close processes.
• Ensure quality control over financial transactions and reporting.
• Manage compliance with local and governmental reporting requirements and tax filings.
• Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to strengthen internal controls.
• Perform additional controller duties such as preparing business plans and financial strategies.

Required profile

• Proficiency in financial reporting, budgeting and auditing principles.
• Strong knowledge of accounting software and systems, as well as MS Excel.
• Attention to detail and high accuracy in data entry.
• Analytical ability to interpret financial data and present insights.
• Knowledge of relevant financial regulations and tax compliance standards.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field; ACCA or CPA certification is a plus.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills for collaboration with various teams.
• Previous experience in engineering, construction or related industries is an asset.
