VAT Senior Associate

About the role

PwC is looking for a VAT Senior Associate to join its Tax team in Qormi, Malta. The role sits within the General Tax Consulting line of business and involves working alongside the VAT leadership team on a varied portfolio of local and international clients.

Key responsibilities

• Support the review of compliance and advisory work carried out by junior team members.
• Identify VAT compliance gaps and give tailored recommendations on key areas of focus for clients' businesses.
• Liaise with local tax authorities and contribute to audit procedures.
• Provide guidance and training to team members so the correct VAT treatment is applied.
• Deliver or contribute to internal and external training sessions.
• Take part in team initiatives that foster collaboration at all levels.

Required profile

• Master's degree in Accountancy or successful completion of the ACCA qualification.
• 3+ years of prior experience working in VAT.
• Fluent in English and Maltese, with strong interpersonal skills.
• Experience coaching and guiding team members.
• Eager to gain exposure across disciplines and industries, able to prioritise competing tasks, and proactive in proposing and implementing new projects.
