Senior Network and Security Engineer

About the role

We are looking for a Senior Network and Security Engineer who will own the full project lifecycle, designing and implementing networking and security solutions from scratch. The role involves direct client interaction to translate business needs into robust technical architectures.

Key responsibilities

• Design, implement and maintain LAN/WAN, wireless and firewall infrastructures following security best practices.
• Configure and manage next‑generation firewalls and VPN solutions for secure connectivity.
• Monitor network traffic, performance and security events, identify risks and recommend improvements.
• Perform proactive maintenance, troubleshooting and root‑cause analysis for network and security incidents.
• Apply firmware updates, patches and configuration changes to network and security devices.
• Provide remote and on‑site technical support in line with service level agreements.
• Maintain accurate documentation, including network diagrams, configurations and change records.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of hands‑on experience in network and security operations.
• Practical experience administering Cisco routing, switching and wireless technologies.
• Experience deploying and managing next‑generation firewalls and VPN technologies.
• Solid understanding of TCP/IP, routing protocols, VLANs, WLANs and network security principles.
• Located in Malta with local experience and a valid Category B driving licence.
• Willingness to be on‑call and work overtime, with allowance added to gross salary.
