Network Infrastructure Engineer

About the role

BMIT is looking for a Network Infrastructure Engineer to design, implement and operate customer network environments within its managed services portfolio. The role ensures the stability, security and performance of customer LAN, WAN, firewall, wireless and cloud networks, working with Solution Architects, Service Delivery teams and customers on both on-premise and cloud environments.

Key responsibilities

• Onboard, administer and run day-to-day operations on customer networks, on-premise and cloud-based
• Manage and support firewalls, LAN, WAN, VPN, wireless and network security components
• Deploy, configure and maintain routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers, VPNs and wireless access points
• Perform preventive maintenance, upgrades and service enhancements
• Troubleshoot network issues proactively, take part in root-cause analysis and implement corrective actions
• Act as the primary technical contact for customers and communicate clearly during incidents, changes and maintenance
• Document network designs, configurations, procedures and troubleshooting guides
• Support Azure Networking and AWS VPC, and collaborate with architects on hybrid and cloud-first designs
• Work with commercial and service teams on customer requirements, solution reviews, change requests and service improvements
• Take part in an on-call rotation and make onsite customer visits when required

Required profile

• Experience supporting and administering enterprise networks (LAN/WAN, VPN, firewalls, wireless) in an MSP or enterprise environment
• Hands-on experience configuring and troubleshooting routers, switches and firewalls
• Strong understanding of network security fundamentals and best practices
• Ability to work to SLAs, follow change control and produce clear technical documentation
• Strong customer communication skills during incidents, changes and maintenance

Required skills

• Desirable: vendor certifications such as CCNA/CCNP, Fortinet NSE, Palo Alto or Aruba
• Desirable: cloud networking (Azure Networking, AWS VPC) and hybrid connectivity
• Desirable: load balancers, SD-WAN or advanced wireless design
