Senior Analyst – Strategy, Policy & Innovation

About the role

The Strategy, Policy and Innovation function of the Malta Financial Services Authority is seeking a Senior Analyst to drive cross‑sectoral strategy, regulatory development and policy work. You will work closely with internal directorates, government bodies and external stakeholders to shape Malta’s financial services regulatory framework.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the formulation, implementation and evaluation of strategy and regulatory development projects, delivering analytical assessments and recommendations.
• Contribute to the Authority’s Strategic Planning and Implementation Cycle, identifying priority areas aligned with strategic objectives.
• Support senior management in long‑term strategic reviews and monitor progress against the MFSA’s strategic direction.
• Conduct research and analysis on strategy formulation, regulatory initiatives and related policy matters.
• Collaborate with various directorates, governmental agencies and external partners to coordinate and implement regulatory initiatives.
• Represent the function in local and international forums on financial services regulation.
• Act as a technical reference point and mentor junior team members.
• Undertake additional tasks as directed by line management.

Required profile

• Strong academic background in Banking, Economics, Accountancy, Law or a related field.
• Relevant qualification at NQF Level 6 or higher, or a recognised professional qualification.
• Minimum of five years’ experience in the financial services sector.
