Restaurant Manager - Xara Palace

About the role

Xara Palace, part of the Xara Collection, is looking for an experienced and passionate Restaurant Manager to lead its front-of-house operations and uphold its high standards of service excellence. The role takes full responsibility for day-to-day front-of-house management, supports the commercial success of the restaurant including private events and functions, and contributes to the reputation of the property.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee daily restaurant operations so that service is smooth and efficient.
• Lead, train and motivate the front-of-house team.
• Promote sales through menu knowledge, upselling and beverage pairing.
• Manage reservations, table allocation and service flow.
• Handle guest feedback and resolve issues professionally.
• Coordinate and oversee private events, functions and special occasions.
• Ensure compliance with hygiene, safety and allergen regulations.
• Monitor financial performance, staffing levels and operational costs.
• Work closely with the kitchen team to ensure seamless service delivery.

Required profile

• 3-5 years' experience in a supervisory or management role within a high-end or fine dining environment.
• Relevant qualification in Hospitality Management (ITS Diploma or equivalent preferred).
• Valid Food Handler Licence (as per Maltese regulations).

Required skills

• Strong leadership and team management skills.
• Excellent communication and strong organisational skills, able to manage busy service periods and changing priorities.
• In-depth knowledge of food and beverage operations and guest service.
