Performance & Development Specialist

About the role

The Performance & Development Specialist works closely with the Performance & Talent Manager to embed and continuously improve performance management practices across the organisation. This role blends strong operational delivery with an organisational development mindset, ensuring performance processes run smoothly while enhancing how performance is defined, measured and developed.

Key responsibilities

• Drive adoption of performance management practices across all departments, ensuring managers understand and engage with the process.
• Own end‑to‑end execution of performance cycles, including goal setting, check‑ins, reviews and probation periods, while managing timelines and system workflows.
• Collaborate with managers to define, refine and challenge goals and KPIs, shifting focus from activity‑based targets to outcome‑driven indicators.
• Maintain high completion rates and quality outputs, proactively identifying and resolving gaps or delays.
• Provide structure and consistency to performance practices, adapting approaches to suit different team contexts.

• Strong operational delivery skills with the ability to manage complex performance cycles independently.
• Organisational development mindset, capable of influencing managers and fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder‑management abilities to ensure clear understanding of performance processes.
• Detail‑oriented and proactive in identifying and solving engagement or timeline issues.
