Manufacturing Shift Engineer

About the role

STMicroelectronics is looking for a Manufacturing Shift Engineer to lead the Assembly Department shift operations. You will manage the production line to meet quality, cycle‑time and cost targets while ensuring strict adherence to safety and procedural standards.

Key responsibilities

• Submit health & safety accident reports and identify safety hazards.
• Maintain discipline on the line, provide feedback on regulatory infringements, and execute the Shift Manufacturing Manager’s action plan.
• Monitor operator performance, highlight resource or training gaps, and implement training plans as needed.
• Lead daily shift briefings, one‑to‑one communications, and deliver One Point Lessons to the team.
• Conduct daily Gemba walks focusing on 5S, anti‑mixing and H&S.
• Take immediate corrective actions for safety and housekeeping issues.
• Lead manufacturing cells, ensure correct cause‑code entry, and maximize machine bottleneck output.
• Execute shift production targets using FIFO, Lean dashboards and plasma expiry dashboards, interfacing with the Control Room.
• Drive project action plans within the area of responsibility.

Required profile

• Experience in shift management within a manufacturing environment.
• Strong knowledge of health & safety procedures and reporting.
• Familiarity with 5S methodology and Lean manufacturing concepts.
• Ability to lead teams, conduct briefings and provide on‑the‑job training.
