Industrial Equipment Technician

About the role

2coms is looking for a highly motivated and technically skilled Industrial Equipment Technician to join its engineering team in Malta. The role covers the complete equipment lifecycle, from installation and commissioning through maintenance, upgrades and technical support. It suits someone with a strong background in mechanical engineering, electronics, PLCs and control systems who works with multidisciplinary teams.

Key responsibilities

• Install, commission, maintain and repair industrial equipment and automated systems.
• Integrate mechanical, electronic and software components into operational systems with cross-functional teams.
• Troubleshoot and diagnose faults in mechanical, electrical, electronic and automation systems.
• Ensure compliance with industry standards, safety regulations and quality requirements.
• Provide technical support and guidance to internal teams and customers when needed.
• Develop, update and maintain technical documentation, service records and operational procedures.
• Liaise with suppliers and manufacturers on technical support and product information.
• Prepare technical reports, maintenance records and project documentation.
• Assist in developing, testing and implementing new products and systems, and support process improvements.

Required profile

• MQF Level 5 qualification in Mechatronics Engineering or a related technical discipline.
• Proven experience in mechatronics, industrial equipment maintenance, automation or a similar technical role.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, electronics, electrical systems, automation technologies and software-controlled equipment.
• Experience with PLCs and logic controllers, and understanding of industrial control systems.
• Experience with testing, diagnostics, simulation and troubleshooting tools.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to work independently and in teams.
• Willingness to travel when required for training and technical support.
