Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) Officer

About the role

PharOS, a pharmaceutical development company, is looking for an Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) Officer to support the implementation and maintenance of its Health and Safety Management Programme at the Malta manufacturing site.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct routine workplace inspections, housekeeping checks and walk‑abouts to identify unsafe acts, conditions and improvement opportunities.
• Assist in hazard identification, risk assessment and implementation of control measures under the direction of the EHS Manager.
• Monitor the use and condition of personal protective equipment, safety equipment and signage, reporting any deficiencies.
• Support internal EHS audit activities by preparing checklists, participating in walk‑throughs and recording findings.
• Collect information, photographs and witness statements for near‑miss, unsafe condition and accident investigations, draft reports and follow up on corrective actions.
• Maintain EHS documentation and records such as risk assessments, permits, inspection forms, training attendance, incident reports, waste documentation and equipment registers.
• Gather data for EHS assessment of new materials, processes and activities and prepare draft assessments for review.
• Assist in drafting, reviewing, distributing and implementing EHS‑related SOPs, forms and work instructions, ensuring current versions are available and obsolete documents are removed.
