Director of Financial Advisory

About the role

The Director of Financial Advisory will lead the Financial Advisory Services (FAS) team of a reputable Maltese accounting firm. Reporting directly to the partners, the role involves managing complex assignments, interfacing with clients, financiers, auditors and other professionals, and shaping the strategic direction of the advisory practice.

Key responsibilities

• Lead corporate finance assignments such as company valuations, IFRS reporting, feasibility studies and financial due diligence.
• Provide executive leadership, mentorship and performance management for the advisory team.
• Ensure compliance with know‑your‑client procedures, risk management policies and accurate time‑recording.
• Oversee the full engagement lifecycle: engagement letters, financial modelling, report drafting, billing and debt collection.
• Manage multiple projects simultaneously, delivering on time, within budget and to client satisfaction.
• Drive business development, client acquisition and long‑term relationship management.
• Define and execute the department’s strategic goals and contribute to overall firm profitability.

Required profile

• Extensive experience in financial advisory, corporate finance and IFRS implementation.
• Proven ability to lead and develop high‑performing teams.
• Strong analytical judgment and the capacity to identify and mitigate risk.
• Excellent written communication, capable of producing high‑quality reports.
